AN EXILED PRINCE. A DEADLY ACADEMY. A KINGDOM ONE CARD FROM RUIN.
Three years ago, Lito fled a royal coup that shattered his family and started a civil war. Now he hides at a second-rate academy where students summon beasts, bond spirits, and duel using magical cards. If he masters card-smithing, he can return to his family as a mage-advisor. If he can’t, his brother’s assassins will come for him.
There’s just one problem: Lito can't craft a card.
When scarred mages attack the school, Lito spots his missing uncle among them—professor at the academy, and the last family member who still believed in him. To unravel why, he’ll have to outfight ancient mages, outwit the professors who want him expelled, and outlast the curse on his family’s name. Because if he fails here, he won’t just lose his life.
He’ll lose his last chance to go home.
